PORTFOLIO
Translation is my passion. I enjoy the process of translation independently of the type or topic of the text, and this is reflected in the quality of my translations. It is precisely the diversity of translation work that fascinates and motivates me.
As a translator at the European Parliament, I had the opportunity to translate texts with a wide variety of topics and genres, including parliamentary resolutions that respond to such important events worldwide as the nuclear catastrophe at Fukushima, the developments of the Arab Spring or the events on the Maidan. I was part of the translation team working on texts for the House of European History and the European elections in 2014. Together with two colleagues, I produced the Hungarian translation of the brochure issued for the granting ceremony for the Sakharov-prize in 2012 and 2013.
As a freelance translator, I enjoy the possibility of translating marketing texts that focus on the effect on the readers, speak to people with a more direct voice and with passion. Localization is a beautiful part of my work, where I also have to deploy my knowledge and experience related to the Hungarian/Eastern European culture. Marketing and localization put me in touch with translation topics such as fashion (Nike), marketing for the medical industry (Affidea), and travel (WorldVentures).
I must admit that Arts&Design is my favorite topic as it reconnects me with the times when I studied visual culture at the university. I feel at home when writing or translating texts about dance, film, photography, industrial or interior design.
Design-related content might also be linked to marketing, for example, when translating materials for IKEA, or in the case of the series of 20 articles that I translated for Dulux as part of localizing their website. The articles included design tips in general, as well as specific advice for the children's room, the bedroom, the living room, the kitchen and the bathroom.
